I LOVE DIY projects. This week a friend mine’s mother is going into the hospital for surgery and I’m thinking about putting together some DIY kits for her to work on when she’s home and recovering.
You should try some yourself for group games and parties.

It’s been over a month now since my first post regarding Skype free to any landline in the US and Canada. I am still thoroughly convinced that the promotion is a lie or laden with so many special terms and conditions that nobody really gets a free call.
I have yet to get a free call although I’ve tried at different hours, to different numbers, from different accounts, etc. You name it I probably tried it. Skype stil has not replied to my support request via their billing system. You might say “maybe you didn’t put Skype on your approved whitelist and the emails are going to spam.” NOT! I still get payment information from Skype but no responses to any of my questions.
Why do I find this process offense and disappointing?
1) I pay for Skype (why I still use them will be the topic of a future post)
2) I pay for Skype
3) I have used and paid for over $50 of phone calls on Skype, and I’ve only sent them two emails regarding account crediting problems.
4) They took my money and they took it in a way that was contrary to their marketing.
5) They lied.

I feel for you, but I wonder what words could cause you to lose your cool and risk ending your career on a high note. I hope that your team still values your contribution and respects that you and Henry got the team to the finals. Second place is sad, but it’s not group play.

Today I saw an article on LVMH from BusinessWeek by Pallavi Gogoi. It is titled Wal-Mart’s Luxury Problem. I’ve been paying more attention to LVMH since my friend Katy started working there for Moet Hennesey. For those who don’t know LVMH is the luxury brand company that owns Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs etc… For you women out there who love purses, you know who LVMH is.
The short of it is Wal-Mart is being sued by LVMH for carrying counterfit Fendi’s at its Sam’s Club store. Most people trust a large store such as Sam’s Club or Wal-Mart to carry discounted versions of the same products found for full price elsewhere. Hence we as consumers do not question products found at these stores.
It turns out that we should be questioning why Sam’s Club or Wal-Mart is so much cheaper for these luxury brands. LVMH claims that they are fakes, hence the cheap price. IF I was a fan of the Waltons and IF this is the first time this has ever happened to the poor unsuspecting Wal-Mart buyers, I would say Wal-Mart is plain dumb.
However, history shows that this has happened to them in the past, and the executives have even allowed it to continue happening until the court decided its case despite an injunction. What does it mean? Wal-Mart has “chutz-pah” or guts.
You decide, dumb or gutsy.

I am an avid Skype user, but I find their marketing to be misleading. They say free calls to North American landlines, but I have yet to get credit back or get free calls. I’ve looked for free calls, but I keep getting money deducted. This is a copy of my third support request to Skype. The first two have gone unanswered. Let’s see what happens with the third. Feel free to send me feedback about your experience with this.
